Nick Gelpi is a relatively new arrival in the Miami architecture scene.  It has taken the New York transplant to make waves for himself.  Currently, Nick is an Assistant Professor in Architecture at Florida International University’s College of Architecture and the Arts while maintaining his own practice “Gelpi Projects | Paleo Studio”.  He’s already designed the lobby table at the Wolfsonian Museum in Miami Beach (a competition he won), and even more recently had some of his writings on materials published in the architecture magazine “CLOG” which centered its theme around Miami.

On June 6th, Gelpi will be giving a talk at The LAB Miami in Wynwood during a Creative Mornings session.  Creative Mornings is a breakfast lecture series for the creative community, where speakers come in to share ideas and thoughts on particular topics.  Our Miami chapter is hosted by Malik Benjamin, another faculty member at FIU’s CARTA and community advocate.   Please join them on the morning of June 6th for an engaging lecture.

Of course, it’s also worth noting that Nick was one of the finalists for the second Design/Build competition.  As we’ve stated before, we will be periodically showing off all the finalists proposals.  Below you’ll find his video submission:
